 Stalactite
« Thread Started on Jun 29, 2007, 4:12am »

She was almost invisble when she rested her body down upon the fluffy white snow, almost, the grey markings on her jaw bone and thigh making her noticable.

Her name suited her Element.

Frostbyte.

She stood up, a short, slightly stocky wolf with only half a tail, her head twisted round as she examined the alpha dens with pride, her alpha dens, the only thing wrong, or empty, about the alpha dens and all the other dens, was the fact that she was the only one who would be sleeping in them tonight, and most likely for a couple of other nights.

She sighed and shook her head, shaking off all the snow which had landed and settled in her fur, now she had to play the waiting game.

Basilisk trotted forward. Her cold eyes were bright with despising and scorn. She did not howl, she did not slink, she did not indicate she was there, nor did she try and sneak in. she merely came in and stared long an dhard at Frost.

Her tail lashed with deadly intensity but not out of anger, merely boredom.

"Yo" she said promptly. Defying all wolven traditions of howling.

She'd never admit it, but she was deeply ashamed of her hissing-howl. Her amber eyes blinked, cold, hard, calculating, snake eyes if anyone had them.

(ack..block..)

Frostbyte lacked the keen sense of smell that her sister had, her eyes being the stronger sense, so she was blissfully unaware of her visitor until she made herself heard, which caused Frost to jump and swivvel round out of shock, her wigs flexing and streching to their full potential, taking up an offensive stance, mouth foaming, teeth bared.

But what stood before her wasn't a wolf, nay, it was a wolf, a half-breed wolf, with another beasts DNA mixed in, making this mutated horror.

"Who do you think YOU are?" she growled "entering my territory without a warning or asking permission?!"

Ayame didn't know where he was or where he was going. He was just wandering, hoping that the area that he was wandering through was unowned. He didn't particularly want to get attacked by the alpha or alphess of these lands. He had never been a good fighter, and probably never would be. He just wanted to pass through unharmed and unhindered, maybe getting a little bit of food on the way.

Voices rang through the air and he stopped, one paw suspended in the air. His ears twitched towards the source, and he wondered whether to see what all the fuss was about. He wasn't usually a curious wolf, but there was something slightly different about one of the scents that was drifting his way. He couldn't quite place it.

His fur ran through the snow as he walked forwards, his paws cold. He shook himself, knocking off the snow that had fallen onto his back before walking forwards again. He emerged from behind a tree, spotting the pair with amber eyes. He blinked slightly at the strange, scaly, wolf-like creature but that couldn't be called a wolf. He had never seen anything like that before ... He slowly stepped forwards, and words rung out to him that caused him to stop mid-step.

"Entering my territory without a warning or asking permission?!"

Not good ... This land was owned. He instantly bowed his head to the female, his eyes cast downward. He hoped he hadn't been noticed.

ooc: Bleckness! Apologies for that, I am totally braindead on how to introduce him ... Anyways, if he's in the way I'll go, it's okay ^^

Asil shrugged, a ripple of fur and scales along her spine. She opened her mouth to savour the scent-taste of this new she-wolf. She was intrigued by the snow-white fur, and the wings were fascinating. Wings were not common in her pack, at least until her generation of Nixflame of course..The past was not to be dwelt on.

She narrowed her eyes, and took in the musky scent of her "kind" if she was truly a wolf. Her arrowed-tail flicked again. "My name's Basilisk. Do I need persmission to pass through and let you keep your lives..." Asil looked around curiosuly. "Life" she laughed quietly. "Some pack you got" Scorn discoloured her voice. But from that same mouth came a dripping venom bead, rolling down a fang. Basilisk let it drop to the floor, colouring the snow with green, red, and yellow liquid.

Suddenly she could taste another scent. She whipped ehr head round swiftly, tail swishing quickly. A male... "you there, the one who has not spoken yet, with your head bowed" she narrowed her amber eyes. "Get out into the open, who are you.." Asil looked at Frost. "Did you not scent him? Even in snow..." Basilisk shook her head warily. "Honestly...normal wolves are so impractical..."

Ayame watched from afar, his eyes slightly wary. He backed away slowly, but stopped suddenly. He was watching the snake-skinned wolf, watching that slow bead of poison drip down one sharp fang. He stared, transfixed, as it fell to the ground and stained the once beautiful snow an ugly mixture of colours.

The male looked up calmly as he was addressed, his eyes still wary. He wasn't so much scared as not wanting to talk. He slowly stepped forwards, sticking out like a sore thumb against the snow. In full view he sat down, his head still slightly bowed. He knew better then to think that he would win in a fight against her.

"I am Ayame."

Basilisk gaped at him, not from surprise, but to exaimine his scent carefully, to analyze it. She scented, apprehension, or soemthing similar. He was not stupid enough to challengeher. "My name's Basilisk, but you probably already heard that, I'm of the Nix-line if that means anything" she shrugged again.

Frostbyte snarled at the arrogant and down right rude she-wolf, basilisk she called herself, like her she was a 'mutated' wolf, one who isn't meant to exist, just at a further stage from her, with slight lizard like traits. "You should value your own life and continue walking, Basilisk " she said the name with slight mockery, a common feature that appeared in Frostbytes vocal tones, though not as sharp or venomous as it would be in Nightbreeze's growl.

She watched as the strange liquid dripped from the new comers mouth and onto the snow, tainting it's purity with the foul colours.

Frostbyte wasn't too surprised when Basilisk spotted the other wolf before she did, Frotbyte slowly turned her head and looked upon the male wolf, acknowledging the respective stance he had taken up, also noting the slight weakness in his posture.

"My sight is much sharper than a normal wolf, whereas to compensate for that bonus my sense of smell has dwindled.

Frostbyte's muzzle twitched, he was showing more respect to the Lizard wolf than her, at this she streched her wings out to their full potential and beat them a couple of times, causing a little snow to fall from her feathers, magic.

"Frostbyte" she growled at him, streching her neck and pushing her chest out in a strong, dominant pose, still looking down upon the male "You understand that these lands are taken.... and you are tresspassing?" If she could this would be the time where she would hiss her words, but the tongue that lurked in between her jaw bones prevented this.

A plan flickered in her head... she needed a pack, these were loners on her turf, Basilisk seemed strong, the male might be strong... perfect.

Ayame wasn't exactly scared of the alphess, just wary. She was strong, he could see that just by looking at her, and would definately have an advantage if it came to the worst and fight broke out. However, brute strength was easily countered if you knew how. However, he wasn't going to get into a fight if he could help it.

"I apologise. I didn't realise these lands were taken. I was just passing through, I did not mean to cause any trouble. Please forgive my intrusion."

He really would like to get away from here, he didn't really trust that scaly wolf ... He eyed her up for a second before turning his attention back to Frostbyte. He stood up, shaking his fur once again of the snow that had accumulated. However, there were advantages to having long fur like his. He was quite snug in his thick coat, and was glad he had it.

"I will leave if it is wished."
